NetSuite - Conducting a Pre-Move Out Inspection on a Home Rental
Note: This process pertains to Home Rentals only
Pre-Move Out inspections in NetSuite are triggered when it is indicated that notice was requested by the resident. After the Move Out has been initiated by the steps above, the Pre-Move Out inspection can be completed with the resident and recorded in NetSuite.
- Access the resident’s move out from the Move Out dashboard tile, or from the list of Pending Move Outs (on the menu: Lease Operations > Move Out > List).
- Click the hyperlinked Pending to begin the inspection.
- Click Edit on the top left, then enter the Scheduled Date for the Inspection and the team member completing the inspection with the resident. Click Save.
- Click the Inspections & Repair Items tab on the sidebar.
- The inspection includes 3 sections to complete: Site Inspection, Home Inspection, and Common Repair Items. Click each section to complete the items on each list.
- The condition of each item is not required to be recorded, but can be selected. Clicking Update Conditions will allow multiple items with the same condition to be updated at once. Keep in mind that the purpose of the Pre-Move Out inspection is to document issues that the resident may be charged for at move out so the resident is aware and can fix items if necessary.
- Click the pencil icon next to each item to select its Condition. Upload photos as needed. Click the pencil icon next to Estimated Cost to enter the repair/replacement cost. Click the pencil icon next to Remarks to enter any comments about the item.
- Note: The total amount of potential damages will update on the top of the screen:
- When the inspection items have been completed, click Update Status to mark the inspection complete. Enter any applicable comments, then click Submit.
The Pre-Move Out Inspection will be marked complete and the next Move Out Step will be the Termination Inspection.
