Sun takes the responsibility to keep homes, vacation rentals, and park models pest-free seriously. If a resident or team member expresses or implies concerns regarding the presence of bed bugs in any Sun-owned assets such as a rental home or vacation rental, follow the correct procedure based on home occupancy. Contact the community/resort manager with concerns. Contact the property’s RVP or the VP of Home Services if there are further concerns or questions about handling bed bugs.
Concerns Found in Vacant Homes
File an incident report.
Coordinate proper extermination procedures with the property’s manager and RVP.
Contact a licensed contractor to carry out the extermination.
Follow the exterminator’s instructions on re-evaluation.
Re-visit and re-treat the home until 60 days has passed. Any exceptions will need to come in writing from the VP of Home Services.
Concerns Found in Occupied Homes
File an incident report.
Coordinate proper extermination and remediation with the property’s manager, RVP, and the resident of the affected home.
Contact a licensed contractor to carry out the extermination.

Advise residents on the proper disposal of affected items.
