Benefits of Microsoft Authenticator
One of the benefits of moving from Okta to Microsoft Entra is an improved sign-in experience.
Microsoft uses secure authentication sessions. After you sign in with your password and complete Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Microsoft establishes a secure, encrypted session that confirms you've already verified your identity. As long as that session remains valid, and no unusual activity is detected, you can access your applications through My Apps without being prompted for MFA each time.
If your session expires or Microsoft detects something unusual—such as a sign-in from a new device, a new location, or other suspicious activity—you will automatically be prompted to verify your identity with MFA again.
