Filming a Virtual Home Tour
Use a Sun-issued iPad to film the video. Virtual home tours are between 90 seconds and 2 minutes to maximize prospect interest and save file space. Managers are encouraged to be on camera to introduce and/or narrate the tour. Include the following information in the home tour video:
- The community or resort name and location.
- The site number for the home.
- The home manufacturer name and year.
- Number of bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Interesting or unique features like tray ceilings, kitchen upgrades, etc.
- Interesting or unique amenities, such as a swimming pool, playground, dog park, etc.
- Home price.
- A call to action.
- Examples: "Visit our sales office today for property tour and other available homes!" or "Call our sales office today for current move in incentives available on this home!”
To film a virtual home tour:
- Using the Sun-issued iPad, anchor yourself by placing your feet firmly on the floor and locking your elbows at your side to slowly pan the area horizontally.
- Stand in the corner of the room and take a short video of each room.
- A tripod or gimbal stabilizer can be used if necessary.
- Be careful to stand still and then slowly swivel your body to prevent body shakes on video.
- Avoid moving or zooming in quickly.
- Take the videos in the order of how you would like them to appear in your finished tour.
- After all the videos are taken, open the Photos app on the iPad.
- Tap Library.
- Tap Months or Days to access recently taken videos.
- Tap the More button
in the upper right corner.
- Tap Play Memory Movie.
- Tap the More button

- Tap Edit Title.
- Type the name of the virtual home tour using the Title and Subtitle fields.
- The name will show on the main screen of the video. Be consistent with naming format and use identifiers that distinguish each home from another. For example: [Title] Apple Carr Site 302 - [Subtitle] Clayton 28x52
- Tap Save.
- Tap the More button

- Tap Manage Photos to add or omit certain videos by tapping on each.
- Videos / photos included in the home tour will have a blue check mark on them. Omitted videos / photos will not.
- Tap Done.
- Tap the Music icon to add, change, or remove music.
- If using music, make sure to choose music that's pleasant, quiet, and professional.
- Tap the Share button.
- Videos will save in the Albums section of the Photos app.
