Adding Open House Dates to Website Listings
Open houses are events held by the property at MH communities. Open houses are used as marketing tools to facilitate prospect interest in homes for sale or rent. Prospective residents come to the open house to meet team members, learn about the community, ask questions, and tour the home(s) and property amenities.
Open houses can be held for all available homes, or can be limited to select homes needing the most attention. Generally, team members prepare information about the community or resort and the home(s) available, including having printed listing sheets for each home available for prospects to take with them. Light refreshments may be served, and other marketing materials regarding the property and the home(s) can be provided to prospects.
Team members should encourage prospects to complete an application if they are interested in a home and follow up with the prospect after the open house. In addition, team members should work with their RVP to identify special offers that could apply to prospects applying to buy or rent at the open house. (i.e. No application fees when they apply that day.) Open houses should be advertised on Sun’s websites 1 – 2 weeks in advance.
Adding Open Houses to Sun Websites
Open houses are added to Sun’s websites by creating an open house in the Property Setup screen in NetSuite. Currently, open houses are only able to be added to the suncommunities.com website for MH properties and certain hybrid properties.
Note: Open houses are not set up in the Home Record, they are set up in the Property Setup screen.
Open house dates can be added to the property homepage to attract prospects.
- In NetSuite, navigate to: Property Management > Property Setup to access the Property Setup screen.
- Click the Open House Setup tab from the sidebar menu. Any existing open houses will display here.
- Click the Add New Open House button.
- A popup will open. Ensure information is entered in all the fields.
- Description: Enter a brief paragraph describing the open house. Include things like:
- Home location(s) and a short description (i.e. 2 Bed, 2 Bath)
- If light refreshments are being served
- If amenities are available to tour
- Current sale or move in specials
- Additional information that would encourage prospective residents to attend the open house.
Note: The information added here will populate on Sun’s websites, so make sure the Description is free from spelling or grammar errors. It is a good idea to write the description in Microsoft Word first, and then copy and paste it into the Description text box.
- Start Date
- End Date (Usually the same date as the Start Date)
- Start Time
- End Time
- Click Submit.
